PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim was officially priced at PHP 30,790 in the Philippines, announced Sony through a blog post.
For those uninformed, the new console has a slimmer look and lighter weight. It has two versions: blue-ray disc and digital-only.
According to Sony, they were able to reduce the volume by 30 percent, weight by 18 percent, and 24 percent compared to the previous PlayStation models.
The original PS5 Blu-ray version measured 104mm in height, 390mm in width, and 260mm in thickness. And now, the latest version is smaller, measuring 96mm in height, 358mm in width, and 216mm in thickness. On the other hand, the old digital-only version had dimensions of 92mm x 390mm x 260mm, but the updated version is now 80mm in height, 358mm in width, and 216mm in thickness.
Moreover, the weight of the PS5 Slim variant is 7.05 lbs (down from 9.9 lbs for the disc edition), while the digital-only edition weighs 5.73 lbs (down from 8.6 lbs).
Additionally, there are four distinct cover panels, with the lower side having a matte finish and the upper side having a glossy finish.
Further, Sony has added a protrusion to the side of the Slim variant to accommodate the detachable and replaceable disc drive. In lieu of the PS5's single USB-C and USB-A ports, the front of the device now features dual USB-C connectors, while each side now features two slits.
Sony has kept all the features of the original PS5 except for the ones previously mentioned.

Luckily, the current pricing is identical to that of the previous model. Sony has yet to announce the suggested retail price of the PS5 Slim Digital Edition. Further, it has not yet been revealed when both editions will be available.
