NewJeans 'Gods' (LoL Worlds 2023 anthem) MV revealed

The official music video for "GODS" (League of Legends Worlds 2023 anthem), sung by the popular K-pop group NewJeans, was released globally.

The four-minute music video (MV) features animation following the life of South Korean professional LoL player Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu's story, from his first experience with League in high school to his amazing performance at the Worlds 2022, where he and DRX beat the formidable fellow Korean team T1, led by Faker (Lee Sang Hyeok).

Deft is now competing with Dplus KIA. Meanwhile, his former organization DRX will not be able to defend their title this year. This is after DRX failed to qualify for Worlds 2023 after losing to Dplus KIA in the LCK Regional Finals.

In a statement, Riot Games said that the LoL Worlds 2023 anthem, "GODS," flaunts "epic and intense production elements" combined with NewJeans' vocals.

NewJeans said working on the 2023 League of Legends World Championship anthem, was "a new experience" for all of them. They added that "it was fun to try a new genre and sound."

Debuting in 2022, South Korean pop girl group NewJeans, comprising Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin, have released several famous tracks, such as "OMG," "Ditto," "Hype Boy," and "Super Shy."
