Globe announced it is expanding its roam-like-a-local promos GoRoam, with the service launching in Malaysia.
Prior to this, Globe has made GoRoam promos available in several Asian countries, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
According to Globe Telecom, the GoRoam offer was created in response to the "growing demand" for cheap international data roaming services as the busiest time of the year for traveling between countries approaches.
With GoRoam's country-specific promos that are designed to match the rates of local SIM cards, travelers can stay connected without having to switch SIM cards while they're on their trip.
Globe Prepaid and Postpaid users traveling to Malaysia may now subscribe to the GoRoam promo at PHP 800 for 5GB data, valid for 10 days.
Meanwhile, Globe also launched GoRoam in these locations:
- Taiwan: PHP 600 for 2.4GB data, valid for 10 days
- Thailand: PHP 800 for 15GB data, valid for 8 days
- Hong Kong: PHP 600 for 3GB data, valid for 5 days
According to Globe, these packages have been carefully made to match the local rates, data allowance, and validity periods of SIM cards in each country.
Filipinos traveling abroad no longer have to deal with the inconveniences of swapping SIM cards, renting pocket Wi-Fi, mastering foreign mobile settings, or missing calls from loved ones.
Globe and TM users can keep their original SIM card when using GoRoam, avoiding the hassle of configuring a new one. The service ensures continuous connectivity, raising the international travel experience to unprecedented levels of comfort and connection.
