Converge has launched its most affordable postpaid unlimited internet plan BIDA Fiber in Cebu, with a monthly service fee of only 888 Pesos.
According to Converge ICT Solutions, with BIDA Fiber, they aim to capture users who need fast and reliable internet but prefer a monthly subscription over a prepaid service.
At just PHP 888 per month, BIDA Fiber is the cheapest postpaid internet plan for an estimated eight million households in the Philippines.
Converge introduced the segment-defining product on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Don Vicente Rama Memorial Elementary School in Brgy. Basak, San Nicolas in the province of Cebu, where BIDA Fiber is gaining traction among budget-conscious Cebuanos.
Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder, said:
We are thrilled to be able to cater to a new market with the most affordable fiber postpaid plan in the market which we are calling BIDA Fiber. For the price of P888, one household can enjoy unlimited data for a month, with speeds of up to 35 Mbps. We understand that there are still unserved needs in that class between those opting for our prepaid plan of Surf2Sawa (S2S) and the standard postpaid FiberX plans.

Through BIDA Fiber, Converge intends to provide Filipinos with dependable, fast, and cost-effective fiber internet. For just P888 per month, subscribers can connect up to six wifi-enabled devices simultaneously and experience unlimited web browsing, streaming, and mobile gaming.
For households with members who take online classes or work from home, BIDA Fiber's no data cap is an advantage, as per Converge. This is because it lets people do simple online activities like online games and video calls with family members abroad.
Moreover, BIDA Fiber subscribers receive free access to BlastTV. BlastTV is a streaming television service designed to enhance entertainment, lifestyle, and sports viewing experiences for all Converge subscribers. It is provided as a free Value-Added Service (VAS) as part of the company's first-to-market "Watch Now, Pay Zero" program.
BIDA Fiber is distributed through community retailer partners, similar to the Surf2Sawa (S2S) product, and Central Luzon, the most-served region, is where BIDA Fiber has made the most progress to date.
Converge aims to expand BIDA Fiber's coverage in metropolitan areas such as Pasay, San Juan, Mandaluyong, and Taguig for the rest of the year. BIDA will expand further in North and South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Currently, BIDA Fiber service is present in 588 cities and municipalities across the Philippines.
Jesus C. Romero, Converge Chief Operations Officer, noted:
Our pivot into the broad mass market segments, along with the prepaid product of S2S, means our network is ready to take on the pent-up demand coming from this broader market. We have 6.1 million fiber ports rolled out to accommodate this demand.
Converge has 1.97 million subscribers as of the second half of 2023. While the majority of the fiber internet provider's residential subscribers are still postpaid, its prepaid subscriber base is rapidly expanding.
