Honkai Star Rail's Version 1.4 Update and its release on the PS5 platform will arrive on October 11, 2023, HoYoverse announced.
The upcoming patch, titled "Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream," is set to introduce new areas, such as the Old Weapons Testing Ground and Pillars of Creation. Additionally, gamers can look forward to experiencing an exciting new video game called Aetherium Wars, as well as the Planar Infinity event within the Simulated Universe.

Honkai Star Rail Version 1.4 Update Overview
After successfully defeating Phantylia, resolving the Ambrosial Arbor crisis, and participating in the restoration of the Xianzhou Luofu, Version 1.4 will introduce the newly discovered Old Weapons Testing Ground and Pillars of Creation in Jarilo-VI as essential stages of the story and gameplay.
Topaz, a rising star in Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC)'s Strategic Investment Department, is traveling to Jarilo-VI to handle intergalactic business matters, where the Astral Express Crew will get involved and dig deeper into the core issue of the relationship between the frozen plant and IPC.
In the Aetherium Wars, players must utilize Aether Spirits, digital versions of creatures, to build and train their own fighting partners. To qualify for the Tournament on Jarilo-VI, competitors must collect and nurture Aether Spirits within Victory Zones located in different areas. As players progress through the game, they will obtain more powerful "Overlord Aether Spirits," which can be developed to enhance their combat prowess. As players continue to explore the competition, the level of intensity in the fights becomes more ferocious.
Version 1.4 will introduce three new playable characters: Jingliu, Topaz & Numby, and Seele, an old friend.
Jingliu, a legendary Xianzhou warrior and the previous mentor of General Jing Yuan was once considered the most powerful sword master in Luofu. She was a member of the High-Cloud Quintet, and her skills were unmatched. According to Xianzhou records, she was taken by the Ten-Lords before the onset of mara and was imprisoned in The Shackling Prison. Her famous confrontation with her student, Jing Yuan, occurred later, and the reason for her return to Luofu remains a secret. Jingliu is an Ice-Type character who follows the Path of Destruction. She uses two different states in combat: her normal state and her red-eyed "Spectral Transmigration" state. There is no doubt that Jingliu is a peerless sword master capable of overcoming any challenge and enemy with her experience, elegance, skills, and mara-cursed power.
Topaz is an emerging talent in the IPC, whom we've mentioned before. Numby, a Warp Trotter, is Topaz's dependable sidekick - both at work and on the battlefield. Numby is always on the lookout for wealth that can be used to help with security checks, debt settlements, and calculations. Together, Topaz and Numby travel across the cosmos, settling any debt disputes that could pose a threat to the IPC's operations. Topaz and Numby are Fire-Type characters who follow the Path of The Hunt. The collective wisdom of these two can now be utilized for the exploration by the Astral Express. Trailblazers will witness and benefit from Topaz and Numby's unique effects and damages during their delightful interactions.
Guinaifen, a street performer of many talents, including livestreaming and Kuaiban, is set to make her debut. Despite not being a local to Xianzhou, she is deeply immersed in its rich and profound culture. Guinaifen is a Fire-Type character who follows the Path of Nihility. Her battle skills revolve around using firecrackers, which were supposedly used by Xianzhou citizens to fend off dangerous monsters, according to ancient myth. Locals support her because of her dedication to Xianzhou's culture.
In addition to exploring the vast universe, players can also take part in the "Time to Feast! Astral Express Pit Stop" event, where they can taste the delicious food prepared by the conductor and the "chef" Pom-Pom.
