Mobile wallet app GCash offers 'Online Shopping Protect' (OSP) through GInsure for only 34 Pesos to help Filipinos shop online without worry.
In partnership with Chubb Insurance, GCash offers OSP as a way for all Filipinos to protect themselves from scammers, particularly during the holiday season when double-digit sales are being launched nonstop.
Users can get 60 days of coverage for up to PHP 20,000 for all their online purchases for only PHP 34. The insurance covers situations in which orders are not delivered, are damaged by accident, are not as advertised, or are stolen.
When GCash is selected as the mode of payment, this insurance is pre-checked, allowing you to quickly incorporate protection coverage into online purchases in over 1,500 online stores, including prominent e-commerce platforms like Shopee, Zalora, and TikTok.
When shopping online, users only need to proceed to checkout and keep the pre-ticked box below that explains the product's coverage. Then, pay the amount of your order and complete your purchase. It's quick and simple.
GCash Vice President for New Businesses, Winsley Bangit, said that with OSP, they "aim to lessen fraudulent incidents such as delivery scams for items that are paid with GCash." Further, they ensured this was "made affordable and accessible for all via GInsure."
