On October 9, 2023, some GCash users reported that the app appeared to be down. GCash released an advisory regarding the intermittent access issue.
On their social media pages, GCash posted an advisory confirming the problem experienced by its users and is undergoing maintenance to restore their services.
"You may be experiencing intermittent access to some of our services. Please bear with us as we're working on getting them back up as quickly as possible," said GCash.
"We will post another update for you soon. Meanwhile, rest assured that your funds are safe," noted GCash.
On Twitter/X, some GCash users said that they couldn't send cash through the app, throwing an error message, "Sorry, we're unable to process your request."
Other GCash users reported being logged out of the app, but when they tried to log in again, a notification stating "Something went wrong" appeared.

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks different service outages, GCash users in most of the areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have reported outages, indicating that GCash is down. At 1:40 p.m., the platform received the most number of reports.
