Filipino Apex Legends character 'Conduit' revealed

In a trailer, Apex Legends revealed its latest character of Filipino descent, named Conduit. The new hero is slated for release in Season 19: Ignite.

The four-minute video trailer (Stories from the Outlands "For Us, Utang na Loob") depicts Conduit's journey to become an Apex Legend in an effort to help her family escape poverty. Further, the trailer showcased glimpses of Filipino culture and cuisine.

Respawn Entertainment said of the video:
Inspired by the Monarch Titan that saved her life, as well as her sister's dedication to taking care of the family, Conduit makes the ultimate sacrifice. By utilizing the irradiated remains of the Monarch's battery, she trades her future health for the opportunity to provide for her family and rise to her legend.

The trailer for the new Filipino character in Apex Legends highlights a young girl's tragic past of witnessing a brutal war that destroyed her village.

After a while, a gigantic robot came down from the sky and saved the village by sacrificing itself.

The village was at peace again, and Conduit was living a happy life. But tragedy hit again when her sister got hurt, which made it hard for their family to make a living.

To remember how hard her sister worked and gave up so much, Conduit chose to visit the grave of the robot that was destroyed. She learned unique skills there that she would use on the grounds of Apex Legends to make money, fame, and glory so she could support her family.

The full introduction of Conduit (voiced by Frankie Kevich), the new Support Legend hailing from the Philippines, is scheduled for October 23, 2023, which will reveal her full set of abilities and first gameplay footage.

Conduit is set to release on October 31, 2023, as Apex Legends Season 19 (Ignite) officially releases.
