Review: What Happened to the Bennetts? - Lisa Scottoline - March 2022
Each of us readers has a list of authors
that no matter what they publish, we will read and give a go, and more often
than not we will enjoy their books. One of those authors is Lisa Scottoline. I
have always loved her Legal/Thrillers and even read a couple of the memoirs she
wrote with her daughter. I had felt in a tiny bit of a rut and scrolling
through my Kindle I clicked on this one as it had been one of those books I had
been meaning to get around to reading. For anyone who loves books set in the
world of WITSEC then this is the read for you. It also shows the lengths that a
father will go to avenge and save his family. The book starts with the Bennett
family driving home from their daughter's sports game when a car starts to
tailgate them. Eventually, the family is hijacked and the daughter is shot. The
effect that this causes is that the family is no longer safe and forced to go
into the witness protection service. During this time The Bennetts's life goes
from bad to worse, including people on blog posts and websites believing that
Jason is a family annihilator. When things seem like they are at a stalemate,
Jason takes matters into his own hands to not only save the rest of his family
but get justice for his daughter. In doing this, Jason learns that his family
was a cog in a bigger conspiracy and that he might have the power to not only
bring justice to those who hurt his family but also some other more important
