
China is going to take part in the M5 Wild Card event that will be held in Malaysia in November 2023, Mobile Legends developer Moonton announced.
Longlong Gaming, Mi Ya Gaming, NOVA Esports, and Keep Best Gaming will battle for China's slot to the wild card, which is considered the last-chance qualifiers for the M5 World Championships, the biggest tournament of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The winner then will have the opportunity to join Laos' Niightmare Esports and Nepal's 4MericaL Esports, along with the runner-up of MPL Malaysia, a team from MENA (Middle East and North Africa), and the third-placed team of LIGA LATAM as they compete for the last slot to M5.
To mark its fifth anniversary, the M Series has introduced the M5 Wild Card format, which is an addition to the Group and Knockout stages of the M5 World Championship.
The new tournament model has been upgraded to boost the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports ecosystem and signify a new chapter for the M Series.
The international MOBA tournament has introduced a new format to the M-series, which includes both established and emerging regions. This is the first time this format has been used in the prestigious tournament.
The aim behind this move is to create more opportunities for cross-regional dialogue in the esports ecosystem and promote inclusivity.
The M5 World Championships will be held in the Philippines in December 2023, featuring the top finalists. The tournament sets a total of USD 900,000 prize pool.
